Located on the west of the Caribbean Sea, Puerto Cortes is the main port of Honduras. In 2017, SDC won the dredging contract for Puerto Cortes, which is our first project in Honduras.
The total dredging volume is 805,000m3 for maintenance dredging in berthing area, turning basin and channel. The channel is more than 1100 meters long and the length of the coastline of the berthing area is about 350 meters. The dredging area covers approximately 640,000 square meters. After dredging, the maximum depth in these areas will be 14m. SDC deploys grab dredger Eaglet to remove the siltation in shallow water, and a medium-sized TSHD Hang Jun 5001 will be mobilized from Argentina to conduct the rest part of the contract.
